29th July, 2016: Nha Trang University (NTU) cooperated with The Vietnam Society Of Solid Mechanics (VSSM) to organize the national scientific conference "Composite Materials and Structures: Mechanics, Technology and Application". Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trang Si Trung – Rector of NTU, Prof. Dr. Tran Ich Thinh - Chairman of VSSM, Mr. Le Duc Vinh - Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee and more than domestic and foreign 150 scientists from 40 universities, colleges, research institutes participated in the conference.

120 scientific reports (discussed at six groups in 18 sections) announced the research findings on the fields of: Material mechanics (fiber/ polymer composite, metal-based composite, sandwich composite, nanocomposite, composite structure: plates, shells, FGM composite materials and structures); New technologies in shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, construction, transport and some other fields; Implementation of composite material applications in life and industrial sectors ... At the conference, organizers exhibited the results of scientific research, technologies and some products manufactured from composite materials.
