Graduation for the third Cohort of Norhed Master's program

Awarding degrees to 15 new graduates from Sri Lanka, Liberia, Ghana, Namibia, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Vietnam.

On August 6, 2019, the Commencment ceremony of the international master program on marine ecosystem management and climate change, 3rd Cohort took place at Nha Trang University. Attending the ceremony, there were Mr. Jan Wilhelm Grythe - Norwegian Deputy Ambassador in Vietnam, Professor. Ola Flateen, representative of Tromso University, Norway, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Trang Si Trung - Rector of the University, PhD. Quach Hoai Nam - Vice Rector, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Anh - Norhed Program Coordinator, representatives of departmental leaders, lecturers and 15 graduates from Sri Lanka, Liberia, Ghana, Namibia, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Vietnam.

 

At the ceremony, Deputy Ambassador Jan Wilhelm affirmed the long-term and strong cooperation between Norway and Vietnam in general (the two sides will celebrate 50 years of cooperation in 2021), and between University. Nha Trang University with Norwegian universities and research institutes in particular, Norhed program is a clear evidence. The Deputy Ambassador also congratulated the University on its successful cooperation with the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) to implement the project "Incoporating climate change into ecosystem approaches  to fisheries and aquaculture management in Sri Lanka and Vietnam ”, contributing to the overall development of Vietnam's economy. Mr. Jan Wilhelm also congratulated the new graduates who have gone through the hard learning and training process to achieve today's results. The knowledge that graduates have gained from this program is extremely important to contribute to solving global environmental issues and contribute to sustainable economic development.

On behalf of the University, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Trang Si Trung - Rector thanked the support of the Norwegian Government and partners and congratulated the graduates, thanked the international students for choosing Nha Trang University as a place to study and research and expect new graduates after returning to their homeland to participate in jobs and projects to minimize the impacts of climate change like seawater. rising, changing the temperature, diversifying fisheries, aquaculture and livelihoods of coastal communities in each country where they live.

At this ceremony, 15 students successfully completed the course, including 5 students with excellent results (from Sri Lanka, Namibian and Vietnam), 8 students with good grades (Liberia, Ghana, Bangladesh). , Cambodia and Vietnam). Assoc.Prof. Dr. Trang Si Trung, representative of the University, awarded degrees to new masters.
