Call for Applications: MS in Marine Ecosystem Management and Climate Change at NTU 21 OCTOBER 2014

The Nha Trang University (NTU), in cooperation with several affiliated universities outside Viet Nam, is offering a multidisciplinary master’s degree programme in Marine Ecosystem Management and Climate Change.

The programme provides professional and cutting edge information and knowledge to students interested in marine ecosystems management and climate change. Students study in English and receive solid training on Ecosystems Management, Risk Management, Climatic Adaptation, Conflicts in Fisheries and Marine Policy, and learn analytical tools to evaluate the effects of climate change on ecosystems.

After completion of the two-year programme, students should be able to advise and do research on the changes in marine ecosystems due to climate change; recommend, develop and analyze government policies and other activities to mitigate the effects of climate change on ecosystems management.

Tuition fee
Sponsored by Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and NTU, the tuition fee for two years is US$ 1,200.00. The tuition fee can be paid every semester: US$ 300.00/semester. International applicants who are from low and middle incomes countries LMICs (listed athttp://www.oecd.org/dac/stats/49483614.pdf) and Vietnamese applicants who are members of minority groups or from remote areas will be considered for tuition waiver or tuition discount depending on circumstances.

Scholarship
Six NORAD full scholarships are available for excellent applicants who are currently working for Nha Trang University and the University of Ruhuna, and applicants who are members of minority groups. The scholarship consists of a monthly allowance and a yearly allowance for books and materials. Additional expenses for economy class flights to and from Nha Trang, visa fee, insurance fee are also covered.

Deadline for application is 31 December 2014.
